This is a list of some of the extracurricular activities offered by Western. These activities are administered by units external to FIMS, so you may wish to explore Western's Campus Life website for more in-depth information and an expanded list.

Media

  • 94.9 Radio Western
    Radio Western is licensed as London's Campus & Community Radio station. CHRW aims to provide a voice to Western and London, and are invested in volunteerism and training.

  • Western Television
    Western Television is student-operated and provides student-focused programming and experiential learning opportunities in video production, post-production, writing, and on-screen reporting

  • Western Gazette
    The Gazette is Western's official student newspaper, in operation since 1906. They are the largest student newspaper in Canada, and serve the undergraduate student body and wider Western community.

Student Politics

  • Undergraduate Students' Council (USC)
    The USC advocates on behalf of undergraduate students to university administration, local groups and political bodies. They also run numerous services, and provide benefits and supports for undergraduate students.

  • Society of Graduate Students (SOGS)
    SOGS advocates on behalf of graduate students to university administration, local groups and political bodies. They also run numerous services, and provide benefits and supports for graduate students.

Clubs & Associations

  • USC Student Clubs
    There are currently over 200 clubs on campus, covering every possible interest. Pick one and have some fun!

Athletics & Recreation

  • Campus Rec Centre
    Campus Rec is a one-stop shop for all things sports & recreation. They operate the Western Student Recreation Centre, as well as organizing and administering intramurals and sports clubs.

Leadership, Volunteering, Professional Enrichment

  • Western Student Experience - Leadership & Learning
    Western Student Experience offers many ways for students participate in experiential learning. Programs include the Leadership & Academic Mentorship Program (LAMP), the Leadership Education Program (LEP), and a series of volunteering opportunities.
